Our client based in Leeds (LS9) is currently looking to up-skill candidates from machine operating/production backgrounds. They are looking to recruit Trainee Laminating Machine Operators.
Pay:
Starts at £12.50 whilst training.
After 12 weeks, increase to £14.70.
Shifts:
Days/Nights (Working 12 hours - 7am/7pm & 7pm-7am)
* Week 1: Monday and Tuesday 07:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. and Thursday and Friday 19:00 p.m. to 07:00 a.m.
* Week 2: Wednesday to Friday 07:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m.
* Week 3: Monday to Wednesday 19:00 p.m. to 07:00 a.m.
Duties of the role:
* Responsible for running one of the company's lamination machines.
* Ability to operate all machines within the department.
* Ensure the correct works ticket is being used prior to Lamination.
* Ensure all documentation is correctly filled out and signed on works ticket on completion of required Lamination job.
* Understand the use and need of the Radius system.
* Ensure the working area is clean, tidy and obstruction-free.
* Embrace continuous improvement initiatives.
* Communicate with the Lamination Manager or Team Leader regarding any defaults.
* Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental, and quality standards including BRC, ISO & A2 environmental.
* Organise your workload in line with the daily print programme, ensuring work is delivered against targets and customer requirements.
* Ensure that all established quality standards are met.
* Assist with production operations as and when required, including maintenance and upkeep of relevant equipment.
* Ensure that Lamination is organised in line with the production schedule.
* Check orders, process control, paperwork, and requirements in advance of the plan, to enable production to operate effectively. Ensure the Team Leader is notified immediately of anything missing.
* Provide overtime cover as necessary and reasonable.
* Follow the cleaning regime ensuring all documentation is completed.
* Undertake reasonable requests as directed by management from time to time.
Skills, Capabilities, and Attributes:
* No experience required.
* Previous experience in a production environment and roles is essential.
* Exposure to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
* Previous experience with lean manufacturing, i.e., 5S preferred.
* Reliable, motivated, and enthusiastic about producing a quality finished product to customer specifications.
* Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and the capacity to work to demanding deadlines.
* Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team and manage workload, operating machinery to allocated schedules without direction.
* Be keen to learn new skills and demonstrate a flexible attitude.
* Have a high level of attention to detail, including numeracy skills.
* Demonstrate personal accountability and have a 'right first time' approach.
* Preferred mechanical knowledge would be of benefit.
