We have a fantastic opportunity for a PR Manager working within our PR team at Morrisons Head Office in West Yorkshire. In this role you’ll be responsible for our product PR programme including our ‘The Best’ range, and our Nutmeg clothing and homes range. As well as launching new products as part of our category range refreshes, you will also be responsible for communicating our seasonal product offer as well as announcing our drum-beat of key deals. You’ll also manage reactive media enquiries and relationships with journalists to ensure we make our products famous, particularly at important times of year like Christmas, Easter, Eid, Halloween etc. We are looking for someone that has a good understanding of the media channels and their audiences, including the requirements of all media and influencers. You will take an interest in the news and be able to pitch news stories to the media. You will generate PR ideas for evaluation and have excellent writing and grammar that requires little alteration, with a clear grasp of good, plain English. If you can write well-judged, convincing messages for key campaigns and also write sensitive communications for social media, you would be great in this role. This is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract. The working pattern is 4.5 days per week of 7.5 hours per day, based in our Bradford Head Office. We have a fantastic head office base in Bradford, easily accessible from Leeds and surrounding areas. Boasting a large on site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience store, prayer room, free parking and regular company wide events and promotions. Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office as whilst there will be some home working, our Managers are at the heart of the action and their office presence is really important - you’ll be the face of your specialism. Some of your responsibilities will include: Dealing with requests from the media – handling editorial and product requests as well as managing any potential issues Working as part of the senior PR team to develop news/campaigns that show Morrisons doing the right thing in the following areas: Sustainability Thought Leadership Great shopkeeping and food making Exciting products Colleagues Working with teams from around the business to decide which projects will receive PR support Playing a positive role in creative meetings and brainstorms Working with the senior PR Manager and PR Director to develop PR plans Playing an important role in organising PR events, particularly for the BWS range Providing the media with regular opportunities to understand Morrisons offer and our products Developing and executing news stories and imagery that support campaigns. Specifically produces media releases, photocall notices or photography briefs and broadcast releases to support our great tasting ranges and value proposition Pitching stories successfully to national media and builds relationships with journalists Managing agency relationships, works with agencies to complete projects and evaluates against plan and KPIs. For this role, we’re looking for someone who has: Extensive experience managing a fast paced press office, either in-house or in an agency Good analytical and problem solving skills Ability to provide advice and guidance on how to respond to negative stories Manages agency relationships, works with agencies to complete projects and evaluates against plan and KPIs.
