We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our department in an exciting opportunity to broaden their experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics as a Clinical Fellow (SHO Level).
The post is based at Withybush General Hospital.
You will provide a comprehensive elective and trauma service working closely with other members of the team for all admissions to the ward, clinical investigations, diagnosis and treatments.
The department has a strong ethos around training and education for development of our medical staff. There is a regular programme of audit and governance meetings, teaching during the morning trauma meetings and dedicated teaching sessions. There are plenty of opportunities for junior medical staff to build their CV's with contributions to local service and quality improvements.
We are looking for a candidate with a commitment to excellence in team working and relationships who can also demonstrate the desire to develop knowledge and skills and works with enthusiasm.
The post is fixed term for 12 months and the post-holder will be expected to take part in the junior on-call rota (1:6 - Day On-Call with Cross cover with General Surgery during night on calls 1:12).
Main duties of the job
To participate in providing, a service for Orthopaedics to the hospital and community so designated with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness with your Consultant.
Supervision of all admissions to the Wards, Clinical investigation, diagnosis and treatment of all patients admitted. The duties also involve maintaining patient's clinical notes and discharge summaries. The post holder will participate in regular audit meetings and postgraduate teaching sessions held by the appropriate Consultants.
