Job Overview:
Great opportunity for an IT infrastructure support engineer, you will provide day-to-day hands-on technical support and management of the internal Corporate and Customer managed IT Infrastructure and projects.
Working as part of the IT team you will deliver a quality 24/7 service to internal users (both at HQ and remote) and nominated customers using a variety of hardware and software products.
Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, your prime responsibility will include being an expert on the clients corporate servers and systems, providing technical support for IT equipment for the clients HQ and global remote sites, as well as nominated customer gateways and servers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build/Maintain/Support the physical and virtual environment, network storage, backup and recovery systems in our core networks.
2. Build/Maintain/Support corporate IT infrastructure for the clients HQ as well as remote offices and customers.
3. Ensure that all server builds and networks (both Corporate & Customer) are configured in accordance with the clients Corporate/Customer IT Security policy.
4. Maintain software compliance for all server operating systems, server applications and client licenses.
5. Monitor usage/performance ensuring servers/services are working correctly and efficiently.
6. Management of the email infrastructure including Exchange, cloud continuity services, SPAM filtering and mobile device management (MDM).
7. Ensure compliance with the department’s change control process and procedures.
8. Work within the remit of the clients cyber security policies.
Support Responsibilities:
1. Build/Maintain the IT Hosting Infrastructure as required.
2. Build/Maintain the IT Security Infrastructure as required.
3. Build/Maintain the Telephony equipment and servers.
4. Be part of the IT support team for the clients users and nominated customers.
5. Join the 24/7 on-call IT rota responding to emergencies as required.
Key Requirements:
Mandatory:
1. HND/ Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline OR at least 10 years applicable experience.
2. In-depth experience of virtual environments (VMware).
3. In-depth experience of email services including Microsoft Exchange.
4. In-depth understanding of core Windows OS administration skills.
5. In-depth knowledge of maintaining server hardware and storage hardware.
6. In-depth understanding of IT Security.
7. In-depth experience of High Availability environment.
8. A sound technical understanding in IP network fundamentals.
9. Must be able to achieve Direct Vetted Status (DV).
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
1. Linux knowledge an advantage.
2. Experience of Blackberry UEM server or Mobile Device Management (MDM).
3. Experience of administering and supporting IP phone systems.
4. In-depth experience of SNMP monitoring tools.
5. A sound technical knowledge of any of the following: Endpoint Central, McAfee/Trellix Security, WebMarshal, Veeam, Microsoft SQL Server.
6. Relevant Microsoft qualifications are a strong bonus.
