Overview We are seeking a skilled part-time Accounts Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis (20 hours per week). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and solid experience with accounting software. As the Accounts Assistant, you will provide essential support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting principles, able to work comfortably with numbers, and with a keen eye for detail. The role would ideally suit an experienced Accounts Assistant who is looking for a long-term part-time opportunity. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts. Manage and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections. Provide support with credit control as needed. Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Assist in payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes. Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets. Provide general administrative support to the finance department as needed. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and information as required. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and tax returns. Assist in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and reports. Experience Experience gained in a similar role Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and comfortable with accounting software (Ideally Sage line 50c professional) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
