About the Opportunity Assurance, Technology & Regulation (AT&R) team has a primary focus on three key areas; Independent Oversight & Assurance, Technology Development, and Regulatory Support. We have been directly involved in the Royal Navy's Nuclear Submarine Program for six decades and support the UK Civil Nuclear & Decommissioning industry. Our Project Managers provide co-ordination, project management and support to the Lead Project Manager (Lead PM) within our Research & Technology (R&T) organisation. This role provides project and programme support on technically complex, time critical and cost-driven tasks within the NPRT (Nuclear Propulsion R&T) programme of work. The role involves requires project management [in support of the Lead PM) in the delivery of the programmes' subordinate WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) packages typically concerning structural integrity, materials science testing, novel technology development, computer modelling and infrastructural works. What you will doing - In conjunction with the Lead PM, Chief Technologist, Technical Leads and other team-members produce and maintain task baselines (scope, cost and schedules) including supporting production and update of the Delivery Schedule and assigned WBS Tasksheets. - Support the production of task sheets in accordance with client requirements and due process. - Monitor and control tasks to ensure that they are delivered to budget and schedule. - Contribute along with the Cost Engineer in the production of robust financial and task reporting - Interfacing with Supply Chain to manage subcontracts and other procurements to provide value-for-money for the Client and manage exposure and liabilities in delivery - Develop, maintain and manage the Project Risk Register - Robust and thorough identification and management of change control - Proactively interact and collaborate with members of the Programme Management Office. - Support the timely preparation of monthly dashboards for the attention of the customer's management team - Support the Lead Project Manager in managing the programme, including undertaking wider contract and programme reporting, - Liaising with the Planners to ensure good resource management and highlighting where there are issues. - Demonstrate a focus on stakeholder management, liaising with Authority representatives and a commitment to delivering on promises - Work in a safe and sustainable manner, adhering to the highest professionals standards and 'doing the right thing'. - Support growth initiatives into related business opportunities You will be able to perform these activities with significant responsibility or autonomy with the opportunity to oversee the work of others.
