These posts are responsible for providing personal care and support to service users in a residential care setting. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are able to work both on an individual basis and as a member of a team. You will adopt a person-centred approach to deliver a high standard of flexible and responsive care to service users within the home to maximise and maintain their independence.
Previous experience in social care is desirable but not essential. Ideally, you should hold an SVQ 2 in Social Care, or other relevant qualification, to enable registration with the SSSC as a Support Worker in a Care Home Service or be willing to achieve this within 5 years of appointment.
There are 2 part-time permanent posts available, 25.41 hrs and 22.3 hours, both working a three-week rota consisting of day, back, and night shifts and includes evening and weekend enhancements.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
