Academic Liaison Librarian – Part-Time – 1 year Contract - Birmingham A University in Birmingham has a new contract job opportunity for a Part-Time Academic Liaison Librarian. The position is available as a maternity cover contract, with part-time hours of 18.5 hours per week, including some weekends on a flexible rota. The post holder will provide specialist library support for the learning and teaching activities of a specified University curriculum area. You will focus on the development of specialist, curriculum focused academic and information skills, and of courses and programmes. You will require excellent interpersonal and team working skills, and the ability to liaise with academic colleagues and work collaboratively across the institution. Further Job Responsibilities will include: - Plan, deliver and evaluate teaching activities for students and staff in academic and information skills to foster academic and personal development. - Work strategically with academic staff in a given area on curriculum planning and delivery - Act as a point of expertise within the Institution for the development of academic and information skills, contributing to the delivery of library enquiry services, including physical and virtual enquiry services, and responding to specialist subject-based enquiries - Make creative use of digital platforms and teaching strategies to provide an engaging digital learning environment and develop innovative methods for reaching students. The ideal candidate will possess a Library and Information qualification along with an Adult Education Training qualification and relevant experience in a similar position.
