Job Title: Sales Manager
Location: Hitchin, Hertfordshire
Full time: Monday- Friday: 8am till 4:30pm (40 hours per week)

About Us:
The Puppet Company, a family-owned business based in Hitchin, now in its 24th year as the world’s leading puppet supplier. We are involved in designing, manufacturing, and selling high-quality and affordable puppets and soft toys. We are looking for a driven, committed individual to join our team as our Sales Manager.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to take on a variety of key responsibilities aimed at growing our sales, strengthening our brand presence and supporting our customer base across retail, online, and wholesale platforms. This role will involve customer account management at all levels, data analysis to boost sales, competitor analysis, and driving website performance. You’ll also play a significant role in shaping marketing strategies, executing promotions, and representing our brand at industry events.
Key Responsibilities:
* Customer Account Management: Oversee relationships with Independent, Key, National, and Multiples customers to ensure not only continued business but growth and satisfaction.
* Sales Agent Management & Strategy: Manage UK Sales Agents and strategize to maximize sales growth.
* Data Analysis: Analyse sales, pricing data, and customer insights to make recommendations that increase sales and profit.
* Competitor Analysis: Track competitors' advertising and pricing strategies to improve our offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
* Website Performance: Identify opportunities to drive website conversion, improve customer retention, and maximise online sales performance.
* Promotions & Deals: Work on product/category promotions and post-promotional analysis to understand effectiveness.
* Reporting & KPI Management: Construct and deliver monthly KPIs to measure and drive business performance.
* Industry Representation: Attend major industry events and trade fairs, helping to identify new customers and nurture existing relationships.
* Cross-functional Support: Assist key business members with sales and marketing strategies and projects as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a wholesale, retail or eCommerce environment, ideally with a background as a sales analyst.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in data spreadsheets and IT systems.
* Key Competencies: Strong sales and analytical skills, positive and result driven mind set, excellent attention to detail and outstanding organisational skills.
* Attributes: A proactive, self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn, research, and use initiative.
