Salary: £27,314 - £30,749 dependent on qualifications and experience

Due to an increase in student FT and Apprenticeship applications, Weymouth College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Engineering Lecturer to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a stimulating learning environment that nurtures innovation and academic excellence.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineering professional to make a career change moving either from industry into Further Education or from an alternative FE provider. By delivering a high level of theory and practical across the Level 2 and 3 Engineering curriculum, this would include subject areas such as Engineering Principles, CNC, and Manufacturing/Secondary Machining, as well as expressing your hand-fitting specialisations and industrial experience with the next generation of engineers.
You may also be an experienced tutor or assessor, looking for a change or a new challenge. Whatever your rationale, this role is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference. We are continuing to develop our college curriculum and want enthusiastic, industry-experienced, and committed individuals to help us achieve our goals. We would welcome applications from individuals with experience in any of the following specialisms: manufacturing engineering, CNC, milling & turning linked to extolling departmental curriculum flexibility.
Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3, which includes study programmes and apprenticeships within manufacturing engineering in both a workshop and classroom environment.
With an enthusiastic and engaging approach, you will have the ability to motivate students and support them to achieve their potential, developing their social skills and level of understanding by delivering an empathic and supportive role as a Personal Tutor.
You will play an important role in developing creative resources to inspire outstanding learning and will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of learner progress to promote positive outcomes for learners.
You will hold a vocational qualification at Level 3 or above, as well as a relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or be willing to work towards.
