Network Development Specialist
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
Bonus: 10%
Note: Occasional travel may be required. No remote working possible.
Security Clearance: SC Cleared, Opportunity to go through DV clearance.
Our purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a Network Development Specialist, you will contribute to this by designing energy-efficient network solutions that optimise performance whilst reducing resource utilisation and energy consumption.
Responsibilities:
* Research, plan, evaluate, and create design artefacts (both high and low level) using engineering design theories and principles.
* Automate the deployment of solutions where possible and create professional documentation for all components produced.
* Provide 4th Line support directly with vendors until successful resolution.
Your transferable skills and experience:
* Experience in providing high-quality solutions and documentation using a structured approach for components of varying complexity.
* Experience in producing design artefacts (architectural overview documents, high-level and low-level designs).
* Demonstrable understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
* Understanding of NAT, GRE Tunnelling protocol, DMVPN Tunnelling Protocol, Subnetting & Supernetting.
* Ability to automate the deployment of network configurations and/or network software components in a verifiable way.
* Support and maintain work packages throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.
* Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching appliances.
* Experience in impact assessments.
* Experience working on secure infrastructure solutions.
* Previous experience with Juniper SRX or Fortinet FortiGate is advantageous.
* Previous experience with Cisco ASA and McAfee MFE appliances is advantageous.
