To provide a comprehensive administrative and clerical service to the General Surgery Team.
The main purpose of the role will involve requesting, collecting and tracking patient notes and updating the relevant IT systems.
To navigate and update the Myrddin System.
To ensure that Medical notes and x-rays are available, to file results, provide clerical support to the Team and to cover for colleagues as and when required., + Communicate with clinicians, patients, carers, nurses, managers, and administrative staff. Good interpersonal communication and telephone skills and the ability to deal with staff at all levels.
+ Knowledge and experience of using computer systems.
+ To keep IT systems up to date.
+ To make the relevant patient appointments.
+ To ensure that all patient's medical records and x-rays are tracked in accordance with the UHB's policies and procedures.
+ Deal with enquiries from patients and their carers.
+ To make sure that all of the relevant patient medical records and x-rays are available and complete as required.
+ To file all results and investigations in the correct patient's medical record.
+ To ensure that all requests for investigations are processed.
+ Provide clerical support, following appropriate systems, procedures, policies and processes, to the team.
+ Ability to work computerised systems
+ Follow Health Board/statutory policies and procedures in the safe storage of information, i.e. Caldicott - confidential patient information.
+ Follow Health Board policies and procedures in the use of Information Technology security
+ To use the computer systems to carry out the role, e.g. Myrddin, Microsoft office, theatre system.
+ Participate in team briefings and put forward suggestions for improvements to service delivery in the working environment.
+ Assist in the maintenance of an accurate filing system for documentation and correspondence.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
