Murphy is recruiting for a Principal Engineer to work with Murphy Applied Engineering in Stonecross, Warrington.

Under the banner of Murphy Applied Engineering, our in-house teams include civil, structural, mechanical, geotechnical and process engineers. They design both permanent and temporary works for projects in all our locations and are a trusted source of expert advice for both Murphy colleagues and external customers.
A day in the life of a Principal Engineer:
* Managing team workload and providing advice/support to the team as required
* Leading Pre-FEED and FEED studies
* General project management of study work (cost control and reporting)
* Desktop geotechnical studies to support routing of pipelines
* Providing advice/liaison to Geotechnical Contractors undertaking ground investigation works
* Lead advisor on the management of ground risk at all stages of projects from concept through to construction and installation
* Managing scheduling of ground investigation works
* Commercial evaluations of ground investigation quotes
* Lead engineer for GIR's and GDR's
* Lead engineer for consents associated with NWR's, UTX's and National Highways Road Crossings
* Interpretation of factual ground investigation reports

* Lead technical specifications for ground investigation including bills of quantities
* Lead feasibility and FEED studies associated with pipelines and power cables
* Lead geotechnical designs for foundations, retaining walls, sheet piled cofferdams and slope/trench stability
* Lead technical solutions for trenchless crossing designs
* Temporary works experience
* Experience with piling design, techniques and applications
