We are the Programme and Contract Management team at the Environment Agency, creating a better place through excellence in project and programme management. Our strong, well-qualified teams manage flood risk and waterways projects throughout their lifecycle to deliver environmental improvements, sustainability and carbon reduction, adding value and resulting in a greater sense of shared ownership with local communities.
Communication skills and organisation are essential for this role. As a Project Support Officer, you'll give our teams the support they need by efficiently and accurately handling project information. It's a valued role that will see you supporting a wide range of projects, giving you an in-depth understanding of large-scale projects that are having a hugely positive effect.
Day to day you'll be handling and processing data, preparing newsletters and briefings, running reports and providing vital support to meetings. This role provides a diverse range of work to help and support colleagues be ever-more effective in their roles. This role interacts with many different teams across the Environment Agency, so it's important that you're positive, enjoy helping colleagues, promoting collaboration and take pride in your work.
A Level standard qualifications are desirable. PRINCE2 Foundation or APM Foundation is an advantage. It's important that you're confident in MS Office. Experience in project support or project management will help, but more important is your interest in the work and exceptional talent for organisation and planning.

The Temporary Worker will provide administrative support. They will follow set procedures and will exercise some independent judgment in carrying out instructions, under general supervision. Examples of work performed will include but not be restricted to:
- Collating and analysing fairly complex information or data, submitting results in a written report
- Overseeing administrative procedures and processes
- Assisting with budget preparation and control, if required
- Acting as an administrative liaison with internal and/or external sources
- Preparing routine correspondence
Typical qualifications and experience:
- Five GCSEs at Grade C or above or equivalent (including English Language or equivalent)
- NVQ Business Administration Level 2 (or suitable clerical experience)
- Administrative experience with a good knowledge of and experience in using Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
