Job Overview
An opportunity has arisen for a procurement & invoicing co-ordinator in the procurement and Homecare team based at Clatterbridge. We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient and organised individual with experience of working in pharmacy.
The postholder will be responsible for purchasing medicines for use throughout Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (WUTH) and for external customers under service level agreements.
They will ensure a cost effective and timely supply of medicines in accordance with Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines and NHS medicine procurement contracts.
The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, as they will be working within a busy team and will be communicating with a variety of professionals across the Trust. Full training will be provided.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Responsible for the ordering of medicines and other pharmaceutical-related commodities from external suppliers for Wirral NHS Trust ensuring adequate stock is ordered.
2. Responsible for the receipt and delivery of medicines onto the JAC pharmacy computer stock control system ensuring a high level of accuracy.
3. Ensure that all invoices are passed for payment and all price discrepancies are investigated and resolved including Homecare.
4. Investigate “manufacturing delay” reports and identify and source emergency stock from alternative suppliers.
5. Ensure immediate action is taken in the event of a Drug Recall ensuring that all appropriate departments are communicated within appropriate timescales depending on the urgency.
6. Liaise with external suppliers regarding drug supply, discrepancies and invoice queries to ensure that an effective and efficient service is maintained.
Person Specification
Qualifications, Specific Experience & Training
* NVQ 3 (Pharmaceutical Services) or equivalent experience in procurement and invoicing
* ECDL
* Excellent keyboard skills
* Proven record of at least 18 months work experience (1 year if degree entry)
* Purchasing/Invoicing experience
* Education and training of staff
* Understanding of procurement methods
* Adherence to and implementation of procedures
* Working in a Pharmacy Department
* Experience with JAC
