About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join our team. As the Operations Manager, you will lead our Surgeries Operations Team, driving team motivation and ensuring the achievement of monthly targets. You will play a pivotal role in shaping strategies for growth, aligning operations with company objectives, and maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
To succeed in this role, candidates must have a strong understanding of construction fit-out projects, particularly shop fit-out or high-end residential projects. A clear understanding of WIP (Work in Progress) calculations and proven experience in increasing gross profit within a project team are essential.
This position demands a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, team management, and project delivery skills, along with a strong focus on financial performance and operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Lead, mentor, and motivate the Surgeries Operations Team to achieve performance targets, foster a high-performance culture, and create a collaborative and supportive work environment by recruiting, retaining, and developing talent.
2. Deliver surgery projects on time and within scope, ensuring the delivered gross profit margin meets or exceeds the “as sold” gross profit target.
3. Apply expertise in managing construction fit-out projects to ensure project efficiency and quality, proactively addressing potential issues that could impact project delivery, customer satisfaction, or financial performance.
4. Utilise a strong understanding of WIP calculations and financial tracking to optimise project financials, reduce overdue invoice totals, and ensure timely payments to meet financial targets.
5. Implement strategies to increase gross profit margins and improve operational efficiency by optimising resources, saving costs, and adhering to procurement policies.
6. Monitor and improve project closure rates by reducing the number of snagging projects and maintaining high customer satisfaction through effective project quality management and communication.
7. Track and analyse health and safety metrics, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
8. Use performance metrics to identify and address areas for improvement, ensuring all team KPIs are met and fostering continuous improvement across operations.
9. Manage resources effectively, including scheduling, materials, tools, and reporting, to maximise team productivity and operational efficiency.
10. Handle complex customer complaints, ensuring swift resolution and using data to prevent future occurrences.
Key Qualifications and Skills
1. Ability to lead and inspire teams effectively.
2. Clear and effective communication skills.
3. Proficiency in data analysis, strategic planning, and service operations software.
4. Effective multitasking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
5. Project management expertise with a clear understanding of industry best practices.
6. In-depth understanding of surgeries operations processes and strategies.
7. Experience managing in-house labor and subcontractor teams.
8. Understanding of CDM regulations, H&S standards, and construction contracts.
9. Experience in the Dental industry is advantageous but not required.
10. A strong understanding of construction fit-out projects.
