I am a 36-year-old woman with learning disabilities and some mobility difficulties, and I live at home in Froncysyllte, with my mum and dad. I'm looking for additional support to work alongside my existing PA, on a 2 to 1 basis, in order to help me to access activities in the community, and to assist me at home. Personal care would be involved. I'm non-verbal but thrive on interaction and need to be included in planning and decision making, and I'm sociable but need support to interact. I can become overwhelmed. My anxiety needs monitoring and can differ, depending on mood or day. My mobility can also vary and needs to be monitored. I need a PA to support me in a person-centred way and to help communication and navigation of social situations. Activities would include: swimming, aqua aerobics, gym, bowling, cinema, eating out, long walks, and hair appointments. I also enjoy: music, books, food, cooking programmes, choosing recipes, shopping for ingredients, cooking and eating. Hours of work: Tuesdays, 9.30m - 1.30pm, initially. Flexibility is desirable (particularly for 9.30 – 1.30 on Thursdays). It's important that you're a driver, with your own car which can be used for driving me to activities with appropriate insurance, and that you have a DBS check in place. Hours Required: 4 hours weekly. Hourly Rate: £13.25 45p per mile travel allowance. 5.6 weeks rota of annual leave per year. Please note that you will be working directly for the Employer or the Employer who is supporting the Citizen to manage the Direct Payment. A DBS check will be required for this role, if you have a transferable DBS check please make this known on your application form. Training will be tailored to the citizen's needs. Please note the Employer will arrange this for you if the job is offered and accepted.
