Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust for a physiotherapist who is keen to specialise in Cardiorespiratory.
The team is responsible for the care of patients on critical care, respiratory, surgical, cardiology, and paediatric wards. They provide specialist respiratory outpatient services and run the exercise component of the cardiac rehabilitation classes.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and conscientious physiotherapist who is willing to learn and work within the established cardiorespiratory therapy team.
The post will also provide opportunities to supervise and develop junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy students in addition to therapy assistants.
You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You must be able to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively, work in an integrated manner and flexibly within the team, and be confident in decision making. You must be willing to undertake specialist training as required. A valid driving licence is necessary for this role.
Main duties of the job
* Deputise for the Team Leader when requested and work with team members to ensure the effective functioning of the team.
* Be responsible for planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating the cardiorespiratory therapy service provision.
* Provide advanced and highly skilled assessment and management of individuals with a variety of complex, acute, and chronic presentations.
* Provide high-level training and education for the team, service, and other staff/patient groups.
* Work in partnership with patients, carers, the MDT, and wider statutory, private, and voluntary sector services.
* Participate in quality improvements to progress the acute therapy service and the cardiorespiratory therapy team.
* Contribute to student training and development.
In pursuing these duties, the post holder will ensure compliance with the NHS Constitution and the Trust’s Right Care strategy.

Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Physiotherapy
* State registration with the Health Care Professions Council
* Completion of course in Professional Practice education
* Registration with specialist interest group
* Leadership courses
Experience
* Relevant and recent experience working at band 5 level including 12 months in acute ward work.
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working and collaboration with other professions and agencies.
* Experience of clinical supervision both as supervisee and supervisor.
* Recent experience of student training.
* Experience of guideline development or audit.
* Experience of working at band 6 level.
* Experience in Cardiorespiratory assessments and treatments.
Knowledge
* Knowledge and clinical reasoning skills to support advanced clinical practice in Cardiorespiratory.
* Knowledge of the roles of other professionals and the principles of partnership working.
* Knowledge of clinical standards and ability to implement and audit these in the team.
* Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.
* Knowledge to promote and support equality and value diversity.
* Knowledge of the NHS constitution.
* Knowledge of current national and local legislation relevant to physiotherapy in Cardiorespiratory.
