As a Transport Planner, you will provide a plan that deploys the allocated resource pool in the most effective way and ensure the plan meets all legal obligations in respect of WTD and EU Drivers Legislation.
Working Hours: Any 5 in 7 days, 08:00 - 18:00
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
1. Ensuring GTS housekeeping is constantly completed
2. Depot logs are completed by specified time
3. Input trailer numbers as soon as practical to do so
4. Monitor and report empty legs for shift
5. Monitor Time lapse and Restricted parking reports by specified time
6. Complete Microlise debrief by specified time
7. Report Microlise errors to central team
8. Check resource availability for the shift
9. Confirm driver start times for next day
10. Monitor and report WTD issues / concerns to Operations team
11. Ensuring there is ongoing verbal communication with the driving team to supplement the use of Microlise
12. Ensuring there is clear daily communication between shifts
13. Managing drivers' hours in relation to customer requirements and volume demand
14. Understanding and achieving specific targets regarding utilisation, loaded, empty legs
15. Supporting the Transport Manager with all required Back-to-Back prep
16. Undertaking Back-to-Back tracking during F1 season with regular updates to team and Customers
Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of WTD and EU Drivers Hours (Core)
2. CPC National Qualification (Desirable)
3. Working knowledge of GTS
4. Understanding of F1 Customer Contracts and back to back arrangements
5. IT Literate including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
6. Ability to question, challenge and improve upon existing processes
7. Ability to establish effective working relationships
8. Be able to work to tight deadlines
9. Ability to multi-task with a calm and flexible approach
10. Positive attitude
11. Methodical and organised approach
12. Ability to prioritise
13. Enthusiasm to learn and to progress through experience and training

16. DBS Check required
