Job summary Are you a compassionate and experienced nurse/midwife committed to reducing child deaths? The Child Death Review Team is a small, professional and supportive team who are looking to welcome a new member. We review all child deaths from 0-17 years throughout Southend, Essex and Thurrock. We are looking for a new team member to assist in the provision of high standards of holistic, family-centred care, supporting families who have experienced the death of a child. The successful candidate will work in partnership with agencies to ensure a co-ordinated approach within the Child Death Review process to support families, ensure a thorough, robust review and to share the learning from the review. You will also be an expert resource for the multi- professional team. Main duties of the job o All requests for a JAR will be met within 24 hours, by the participation in acounty wide rota to enable an on-call response for 58 hours per week, which will be supported by other team members. o To collaborate with Designated and Named Professionals across SET toensure that there is a consistent and co-ordinated approach to child death review practice across the health economy. o To provide expert up to date advice, training and supervision to appropriate professionals working with children on issues relating to child death review practice. o Have advanced understanding of child care legislation, information sharing, information governance, confidentiality and consent, and be able to give advice to others on these. o Organisation and representation at relevant meetings. o Promote and facilitate good partnership working with all agencies enabling effective outcomes for children and young people. o Ensure that performance data and supporting evidence for reportingframeworks is maintained. o To participate in the dissemination of information and learning from child death reviews, in a variety of educational forums, to all members of the multiagency teams across the health economy.
