APIGEE Developer (Contract) Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - occasional travel to site) Duration: 12 months Rate: £450 per day (inside IR35) We are seeking an experienced APIGEE Developer to join a dynamic team for a contract position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API management, cloud-native solutions, and DevOps practices. You will work closely with various stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain API products, ensuring high performance and security across platforms. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage APIs using Apigee, ensuring efficient API versioning, documentation, and developer onboarding processes. Contribute to the design and implementation of AWS cloud-native solutions. Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and maintain systems using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, and Git. Design and maintain both SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring reliability and scalability. Implement secure development practices, ensuring APIs meet security standards and protocols. Utilize backend programming languages (Python, Typescript) to deliver business-driven solutions. Design serverless architectures and integrate with event-driven patterns. Apply automated testing methodologies to improve the quality of delivered code. Work in agile development teams, collaborating with Product Owners and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions. Required Skills & Experience: Proven experience in building API products, particularly with Apigee. Strong knowledge of cloud-native technologies, specifically AWS. Experience with DevOps tools and deployment automation. Solid understanding of database technologies (SQL & NoSQL). Expertise in security protocols and API security. Proficiency in backend development languages like Python and Typescript. Understanding of serverless solutions and event-driven architectures. Familiarity with automated testing and best practices in software engineering. Hands-on experience working in agile teams (Scrum, Kanban, XP). Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to deliver on business requirements. Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience in integration design, development, and delivery. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, etc.). Experience supporting, monitoring, and maintaining production-grade systems. Knowledge of observability tools like Splunk, Datadog, or AWS monitoring tools. Ability to respond to and identify production-impacting issues, creating remediation plans.
