Our manufacturing site in Kinmel, North Wales is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to join the technical team.
Role Purpose
The Quality Assurance Manager will lead the implementation and continual development of the IPN QMS process, including the verification that raw material preparation and production and product storage/distribution is compliant with food safety, quality, legality and customer requirements. Lead a team of Quality Technicians to take responsibility for controlling, implementing, and embedding all procedures, process and documentation in line with our Group Technical policies.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the operational process and production of finished goods are appropriately controlled, via HACCP, to ensure compliance with food safety and customer standards through quality teams
* Leading a site quality panel to ensure compliance to product specifications
* Implement, embed and review all QA processes to ensure robust sampling, testing, auditing and monitoring processes.
* Respond to internal audits at regular intervals and maintain internal quality management systems to deliver audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal and customer requirements
* Interface with the key stakeholders in order to support visits and audits
* Provide support and guidance in investigations and root cause analysis into key system and process deviations ensuring the appropriate action is taken to ensure ongoing compliance
* Develop teams to build capability which promotes performance in quality areas
* Ensure that all relevant team members have the skills and understanding necessary to successfully complete their role and have training plans which support ongoing development
* Comply to all health and safety policies and procedures and raise any safety concerns.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Experience of coaching people
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence peers and colleagues
* Internal audit management
* Experience of working with BRC certification standards
* Able to operate Root Cause Analysis techniques for problem solving
* Able to interpretation of customer code of practice
* Basic Food Legislation and legal knowledge
* Understanding of technical KPIs/effective improvement plans
* Level 3 HACCAP
