We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a thriving secondary school in South Gloucestershire, who need a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join their supportive team.
The successful candidate will work with students in Key Stages 3 and 4, providing tailored support to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential.
This full-time, long-term role is available for an immediate start, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of SEN students.
- Collaborate with subject teachers, teaching assistants, and the SENCO to enhance student learning and progress.
- Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and learning strategies to address the unique needs of each student.
- Provide targeted support in both small groups and 1:1 settings, ensuring students remain engaged, motivated, and make meaningful progress.
- Maintain clear communication with parents/carers and external agencies to foster strong partnerships in supporting student development.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice.
- Experience working with SEN students, particularly within a secondary school setting.
- Knowledge of various learning difficulties, including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient, and flexible attitude with a passion for helping young people succeed.
