Control Centre Operator
Location: Onsite - Town Hall, Rugby
Hours: 40 hours per week
Pay: £12.38 per hour PAYE
Contract: 3 months Initial contract
Rugby Borough Council is looking to recruit one full-time, enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and customer-focused individual to work within our 24/7 Control Centre team. This position involves working 12hr shifts on a rota basis, covering weekends and bank holidays, including Christmas.
This role is primarily nights based, working from 6pm to 6am, although some flexibility to work day shifts is required to provide cover in an emergency.
Responsibilities:
1. Operate the Council’s Lifeline system.
2. Take emergency calls from our service users.
3. Manage distressing calls.
4. Handle out of hours enquiries for various teams within the Council, including emergency repairs and homeless enquiries.
5. Provide excellent customer service with clear spoken English, a calm and confident manner.
6. Possess competent IT skills and the ability to work in a close team, as well as occasional lone working.
Minimum Requirements:
Candidates must possess a full valid driving licence and have use of a car. An enhanced DBS check will also be required. Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or a call centre background would be advantageous. Flexibility to cover holidays/sickness is essential.
