Overview
To manage, analyse and drive sales and occupancy for self-catering cottages and the Lodge at Cowdray. Converting all reservation enquiries and ensuring departmentally that all information is recorded accurately into the PMS system. Managing the accommodation budget and optimizing rates alongside the Managing Director of Events. To work alongside the Head of Housekeeping and the wider operational team to ensure guests expectations are adhered to. In addition to this to manage all enquiries for Fishing at Cowdray and Wildlife Tours and to upsell experiences across the Estate to guests of Cowdray.
Job Title: Accommodation and Revenue Manager (Maternity Cover)
Reporting to: MD of Hospitality and Events
Job type: Fixed Term Contract October 1st 2024 to June 1st 2025
Hours: 5 out of 7 days (9am to 5.30pm)
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* To manage and convert all reservation enquires for accommodation, fishing and Wildlife Tours ensuring that a consistently high standard of service is delivered throughout the booking process to manage selling rates throughout the year to optimise profit.
* To be a champion of the PMS system and ensure all bookings are inputted correctly and the diary is managed pro-actively adhering to working practices within the property management system.
* To clearly and professionally communicate with guests throughout the booking process.
* Ensure all ad hoc requests and booking details are communicated with the housekeeping team and wider operational team.
* To ensure that any sales or operational issues are communicated to the wider operations team including the works department, security department and Parks & Gardens.
* Monitor and manage performance of all OTA platforms ensuring that descriptions, information and availability are updated regularly and communicate with account managers of each OTA throughout the year.
* Be a point of contact for all guests during their stay.
* Create and implement marketing initiatives and promotions alongside the marketing department.
* Identify trends within the local marketplace and with competitors to optimize revenue and profit.
* Identify new distribution channels and market trends through research.
* Create and manage the accommodation budget working with the Finance Manager and Managing Director for Events ensuring accurate reporting weekly and monthly.
* To actively up-sell and cross sell the different experiences across the Estate.
* To be a team player and assist the wider sales and operations team as and when required.
Essential Skills and Attributes
* A passion for Cowdray Estate and 5-star Hospitality.
* Experience providing intuitive service with absolute understanding of our discerning clientele and the ability to provide exceptional events with memorable experiences.
* First rate organisational, administration and communication skills and someone who can work under their own initiative.
* Immaculate personal presentation and a confident, professional, and welcoming personality.
* Fluent and clear spoken English with an excellent telephone manner.
* We provide all guests with absolute and unequivocal privacy during their stay. It is therefore necessary for the successful candidate to adhere to strict confidentiality protocol all times.
