Introduction:
An Experienced PA is required to give support to a family caring for a gentleman (early stroke victim) support will be used both as a sitting service within the family home allowing the family time out from the caring role and to enable the gentleman to socialise and follow his hobbies independent of his family.
. these activities include, mountain biking, Fishing,
Attend a shooting club and assist him with his allotment.
Punctuality is very important, as is a no-nonsense approach to the support.
The gentleman due to his condition has limited filter in his conversation and can be blunt, and opinionated.
Excellent communication skills are required to distract and steer conversations to more positive subjects if the need arises.
Client can be prone to seizures or become unresponsive these although disturbing, have tried and tested protocols in place and full training will be given in their management.
Main Duties:
• Always ensure the gentleman’s personal safety during your working period.
• Be aware that the service user may occasionally have seizure’s and become unresponsive and follow the agreed protocol for this.
• Provide support and encouragement and to encourage his independence.
• Support within the home allowing the family time out.
• Ensure he remains hydrated during the working period
• Support and encourage him to engage in activities that he enjoys.
• Encourage his socialisation as much as possible, including trips out to local activities and places of interest.
• To support with any other activities that may be of interest.
• To carry out any other reasonable requests that the employer may make from time to time.

Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4 weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement.
You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences.
You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.
