If you’re ready to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you Main duties of the job To plan, implement, deliver and evaluate nursing care within the day unit. To be responsible for high standards of nursing care. To assist in the auditing of patient care and service delivery. To maintain good nursing documentation in accordance with trust policy. To maintain patient confidentiality To ensure safe and appropriate discharge from the Day Unit following consultation/treatment. To be aware of legislation regarding Health and Safety and COSHH and to act accordingly To demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles of infection control and perform to the highest standards when completing asceptic techniques To manage and advise patients and other members of staff on peripheral and central lines To be able to interpret blood results and act accordingly To acquire, use, develop and teach additional skills e.g. venesection, cannulation and venepuncture.
