From this continued success, we are now looking to recruit a Finance Assistant to allow us to continue our exciting growth plans.

Reporting into our Group Accounting Manager, the Finance Assistant will work within the Reporting team, responsible for the delivery of key financial information to internal and external stakeholders.
Role responsibilities:
1. Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
2. Processing of monthly journals onto the general ledger system
3. Undertake reporting to external parties, including Office of National Statistics & Finance & Leasing Association
4. Undertake payroll preparation under the guidance of the Group Accounting Manager
5. Preparation of monthly VAT returns
6. Lead effective financial control environment within the wider business with a specific focus on data governance
7. Lead first line of defence routines to test the effectiveness of the control environment
Key skills required:
1. Graduate/similar, probably aiming to work towards accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
2. Understanding and practical experience of accounting principles
3. Experience of operating strong financial controls
4. Good Microsoft Excel skills – able to undertake lookups and pivot tables as a minimum
5. High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
6. Ability to work to tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
7. Keen to develop accounting skills and to introduce process improvements to assist efficiency
