Role Responsibility We are looking for a Contact Assessment Officer to join the Adult Social Care Connect team, West Kent Area, which sits and works alongside our locality teams. The position is available at Worrall House - Kings Hill. Kent County Council is operating a hybrid working arrangement meaning that there will be an element of working from home for all staff going forward. Please note that our normal working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30-5:00. The post is Full Time (37 Hours), however if you wish to work Part Time Hours please state this. The West Kent Adult Social Care Connect Team is responsible for resolving contacts made to Adult Social Care and deciding on the next pathway for the person being referred. The service is very busy due to the nature of the work undertaken and therefore you must be resilient and able to work well under pressure as well as being comfortable and confident when speaking to people by telephone and inputting information into our client database. Contacts are received from the public, partner agencies and other organisations who are seeking advice, support, and guidance from Adult Social Care. You will need to have experience of working for Adult Social Care or a related organisation and with vulnerable adults. You will be expected to process and respond to enquiries and establish information to assist in making a decision on the next steps for the contact. It is essential that you can communicate effectively with the public, take and record accurate information and to navigate IT systems. You will need to have an understanding of the Care Act 2014 including Adult Safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Data Protection Act 2018 and a commitment to excellent customer service. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position.
