Job summary We are recruiting a Peer Mentor Support Worker on a 12 month fixed term contract to support children and young people. Main duties of the job The Peer Mentor Support Worker collaborates closely with young adults, their families, and other involved professionals to enhance the young adults life beyond the mentoring service. By conducting thorough assessments, the Peer Mentor Support Worker arranges and facilitates meetings, provides valuable knowledge, and offers guidance to buddy mentors. This comprehensive support system ensures that young adults receive the assistance they need to thrive in all aspects of their lives. This role includes conducting initial triage and assessments, collaboratively managing risks with the young adult and service manager, and delivering targeted, goal-based interventions. Ability to engage and motivate individuals accessing support, including developing and delivering a programme of activities. Up to date knowledge of mental health specifically in relation to young people and families. A commitment to the participation of young adults and parents/carers in decision-making processes, and in the design and delivery of the services they access.
