As we embark on a significant transformation to align our strategy with market demands, we are seeking an experienced HR Manager to ensure our day-to-day HR operations remain robust and effective.
The HR Manager will oversee the day-to-day management of the HR team and provide expert, practical HR support to managers and employees across the organisation, managing routine HR activities and employee relations matters while the Head of HR focuses on our broader transformation agenda. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational continuity, enhancing employee engagement, and maintaining compliance with HR policies and UK employment law.
Key responsibilities
HR Team Management
1. Day to day management of the HR team, ensuring an excellent level of HR service is provided across the organisation.
2. Ensure the provision of HR advice to managers and staff is timely, effective and in line with Company policy and UK employment law, acting as the subject matter expert and a point of escalation as appropriate.
3. Coach the level of capability within the HR team to manage ER cases, supporting the continuing development of people management skills and capability across BCS.
4. Ensure routine HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding are maintained to a high standard.
5. Ensure the maintenance and management of accurate HR records and reports.
Employee Relations & Engagement
1. Support the team as appropriate to ensure managers are fully supported when addressing employee relations issues and in the resolution of disputes, ensuring adherence to HR policies and legal requirements.
2. Oversee the implementation of appropriate employee engagement monitoring and reporting, reporting trends and areas of concern to the Head of HR for review.
3. Champion initiatives to enhance employee engagement and wellbeing, fostering a positive workplace culture.
4. Assist in implementing change management initiatives, ensuring clear communication and support during transitional periods.
Culture Change
1. Assist the Head of HR in the organisation and implementation of culture change initiatives, ensuring clear communication and understanding with appropriate training and development opportunities identified to ensure success.
2. Provide guidance and coaching to managers on newly introduced initiatives, to ensure successful implementation and embodiment into HR and wider organisation business as usual.
Policy & Compliance
1. Ensure that HR policies and procedures are consistently applied and compliant with current UK employment law.
2. Advise on new legislative changes and best practices to maintain a fair and equitable work environment.
Collaboration with Transformation Initiatives
1. Work closely with the Head of HR and the transformation team to integrate new HR processes and support the broader organisational restructuring activity.
2. Flexibility is required of all job holders to adjust responsibilities as required from time to time by their Line Manager/Divisional Director.
