Bookmark Education are working in Partnership with a large Secondary Academy in the Gorton area of Manchester. The SLT are looking to engage with a number of Learning Support Assistants to work with them on an going basis. The role is temporary, working on an oongoing basis through Bookmark, but there will be opportunity to apply for permenant roles if you get on well. A great foot in the door to working in a secondary school The Academy is located in Gorton and is part of a National Multi Academy Trust. The school is graded as Good by Ofsted and is now looking for staff to join tier workforce to support their ongoing success and ambition. The role of Learning Support Assistant within the academy is a Full Time role, Monday to Friday 08:15 to 15:00 in term time only. The role consists of: Being assigned to identified pupils with varying barriers to learning including Autism, Social Emotional mental Health Needs and specific learning disorders Supporting pupils within the classroom setting to ensure they can access all learning, and support with any difficulties, ensuring they are on task and are being appropriately challenged. Working with the school SENDCO to feedback any observations, concerns or successes so that they can build this in to next stage plans for that pupil Be resilient with your approach, you are working with young people who may exhibit behaviours that challenge, be confident supporting them to reach their true potential in school To be considered for this role you must have experience of supporting young people; this may have been in a school setting or in a voluntary or out of sector experience such as charity work or summer camps etc. It is imperative that you have a clear passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
