Barchester Healthcare is one of the UK's foremost care providers. The IT Help Desk team is fundamental in supporting colleagues across their multi-site business, and they are currently looking for an IT Support Officer to join their team.
Main duties of the job
The IT Support Officer will provide technical support for employees across the UK, including assistance over the phone. They will act as the point of contact for both first and second line support, interacting with users from a range of departments with differing levels of knowledge. They will record, monitor, and follow up on support calls to ensure problems have been solved swiftly and accurately, and will identify when an issue needs to be resolved by a third party and outsource this service. They will also support with Barchester's PC, server, and network update and implementation projects.
Job responsibilities
1. Provide technical support for our employees across the UK, including assistance over the phone.

Required experience and qualifications
* Previous experience of working in a telephone-based support team using remote control technologies.
* Outstanding communication skills which enable you to deliver accessible advice.
* Self-motivated, able to work proactively without supervision.
* Comprehensive knowledge of PCs and Microsoft products, and an understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and smartphone email configuration would be beneficial.
* Full UK driving licence.
