Commercial Manager

Inform3 are seeking an experienced Commercial/Contracts Manager to join a busy civils team in Tyrone on civil projects based in NI. Please read the following job description thoroughly to ensure you are the right fit for this role before applying.
Our client is a busy and growing civils contractor, who are keen to get a Commercial Manager with good civils experience into their business and to develop and progress their career and business further. As an experienced member of the commercial team, you will bring your expertise and knowledge to support and assist the team.
Commercial Manager Job Specification:
1. Liaise with customers and contract managers
2. Management of commercial and contractual aspects of relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors
3. Measure, price, negotiate and agree budgets and costs for variations to project scope
4. Check project costs are correct and raise/resolve queries where necessary
5. Attend pre-contract meetings, liaise with a wide range of construction professionals, and ensure timely completion of agreed actions
6. Produce and maintain up to date procurement schedules
7. Compile and issue invitations to tender, analyse subcontractor quotations and make recommendations for placement of orders
8. Compile subcontract orders for approval
9. Visit site to measure and value works completed
10. Assess subcontractor payment entitlement and process payments
11. Carry out reconciliation of cost and value to date/forecast to keep the management team informed of project performance
12. Work closely with contract and site management staff to support the smooth running of the office and the site, carrying out other duties as required
13. Assist in the guidance and development of junior surveyors
14. Other commercial matters as required
Commercial Manager Job Requirements:
1. Hold a Degree in Quantity Surveying / Construction Management
2. 10+ years civils/groundworks experience
3. Motivated, driven, and works well within a team
4. Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word as well as Cubit, Cost-ex, or equivalent
