Applications are invited for the above full time post for this 660 bed acute hospital serving a local population of approximately 400,000. This appointment will be made in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Service for Hospital Medical and Dental Staff (England) 2002.
The Clinical Fellow will be supervised by the Specialty Registrar, Senior Clinical Fellows, Specialty Doctors and Consultants. He/she will work in close liaison with the multidisciplinary team involved with rehabilitation of patients; write discharge summaries; participate in on-take duties and attend out-patient clinics, etc.
These posts will undertake a float role within the 1:24 Acute rota or the 1:30 ward rota. Occupying lines on rota which are empty due to vacancy, Deanery gaps, Maternity leave or Less than full time posts. You will be expected to fill these lines for a period of no less than 3 months before rotating to a different position. The standard CF role rotates every 3 months .

The appointee will join the General Medicine team in the delivery of clinical excellence within the practice across all of the Medicine specialties.

Each Clinical Fellow has a Consultant to act as their educational supervisor, with specific time allocated in the Consultants job plans to provide support and mentoring. In addition within the division of medicine there will be a tutor for Clinical Fellows to provide overall coordination of educational support. They will be supported by the Director of Medical Education. The Study Leave and funding are available with this role is detailed further in the Job Description.
