We are now seeking a dedicated Site and Building Supervisor to ensure our facilities are managed to the highest standards and provide a clean and safe learning environment for our pupils and staff.
About the role:
As the Site and Building Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school buildings and grounds. This is a key role in ensuring a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. You will work closely with the school leadership team and contractors to manage maintenance, health and safety, security, and compliance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure the school buildings and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and secure at all times.
* Manage a small team of site staff, including cleaners and minibus drivers.
* Conduct routine inspections of the premises, identifying areas for repair and improvement.
* Oversee contractors working on site, ensuring health and safety compliance.
* Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and health and safety checks.
* Assist in emergency situations, including out-of-hours call-outs when required.
* Monitor and manage the school's heating, lighting, and security systems.
* Perform minor repairs and maintenance work (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
* Ensure the school is fully compliant with health and safety regulations.
* Minibus driving when needed.
Skills:
* Proven experience in facilities or site management, preferably in an educational setting.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.
* Flexibility to respond to urgent maintenance issues, sometimes outside of regular hours.
* Ability to carry out minor repairs and maintenance.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* IT skills for maintaining records and completing reports.
* Ability to manage and motivate a small team.
* Clean driving license with part “D”.
* First Aid certificate or willingness to undertake training.
