As a Senior Engineering Manager – ILS you will lead and be responsible for a team of senior engineers to support the delivery of all ILS activities within integrated project teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Allocate appropriate resources to successfully deliver work packages or projects
2. Lead regular team meetings to share feedback including performance and metrics
3. Support formal project reviews and provide ILS and Technical Publications guidance across the business unit
4. Produce, or review and approve engineering technical documents
5. Conduct Professional Development Reviews and support development of team
6. Identify development needs and opportunities and provide coaching/training to develop technical capability
7. Manage team performance to support delivery to requirements, schedule, budget and quality
8. Leadership and performance management of functional team of up to 10 engineering managers and senior engineers
9. Define and maintain appropriate team reporting to support business performance (Metrics - Performance, Schedule, Budget, Quality)
10. Make timely decisions considering risk and business performance, and act promptly to mobilise resources and team to resolve issues
11. Deliver functional performance to support company financial objectives and manage functional budget
12. Ensure ILS principles influence early design to minimise costs
Apply if you have most of the following:
1. Qualified to degree level in Engineering or Apprenticeship with sufficient experience in the field or relevant transferrable skills
2. Experience of leading and developing high performing teams
3. Broad understanding of ILS and engineering principles
4. Basic knowledge of the following S1000x international specifications
5. Knowledge/Experience of:
1. Defence Standards or Mil Standards related to ILS
2. Configuration Management and Documentation Control
3. Broad understanding of ILS elements (e.g. Design Interface, Human Factors, Disposal Management, Software Support, Packaging, Handling, Storage and Transport, etc.)
6. Aware of:
1. Health and Safety at Work legislation
2. United Kingdom and European Union Disposal Legislation
3. Military support skills and capabilities, procedures and requirements
4. Development of technical documentation
5. Development of engineering solutions
6. Leadership and Team Management
Additional local needs:
