Job summary This is a new post, created due to a vacancy in the trust's rotational higher training programme. The post-holder will be responsible for providing clinical input to the Kingston HTT. The HTT provides an alternative to admission for working age adults living in the Kingston area. The catchment area is diverse, and includes a few areas of deprivation and relative affluence. The aim of the team is to provide an alternative to admission to hospital and to help facilitate early discharge from hospital. The post is suitable for doctors with couple of experience in Psychiatry seeking further experience in General Adult Psychiatry and to obtain MRCPsych qualifications, or doctors seeking to enhance their portfolio to gain entry to the training grades. Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be available to successful candidates Main duties of the job The employer is the South West London and St George's MH Trust whose main base is Springfield University Hospital. The clinical sessions are within the Kingston Crisis and Home Treatment Team. The Key Responsibilities of the Post are: Full participation in the multi-disciplinary team providing mental health services. Under direct supervision of the team consultant, or experienced Registered MH Nurses (RMN) in the team, to provide clinical assessments and medical reviews of patients in crisis, including signposting and referral to other mental health services in the community. Perform risk assessments and physical health assessments when required Administrative tasks relevant to your clinical duties including medication prescribing, prescribing of discharge medications and other essential clinical documentations and communications with patients and other clinicians Shadow and observe senior clinicians taking part in urgent gate keeping assessments including formal Mental Health Act assessments.
