Main duties of the job
To provide primary and occupational healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care.
Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:
* Provide general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours.
* Maximise the levels of health, well-being and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met.
* Undertake mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties.
* Provide appropriate preventative medical advice to both individuals and Chain of Command (CoC).

Selection Process

All employees joining the Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date.
Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered with the UK GMC and holding a licence to practice.
* To be on the UK GMC GP Register.
* Doctors will provide Certificate of Prescribed Equivalent Experience or Statement of Acquired Rights (now known as CCT) from the Joint Committee in Post Graduate Training in General Practice (JCPGT(GP)). To hold this certificate they will also have to hold a Post Graduate Training Certificate in General Practice and a Certificate of General Practice Vocational Training (GPVT).
£85,451 to £104,560 a year Pro-Rata for part-time.
