New Directions Education are recruiting for an enthusiastic Science Teacher who can cover Biology, Physics and Chemistry to GCSE level in schools across Shropshire on a supply basis. The successful candidate should be able to provide a creative and exciting learning environment whereby pupils are encouraged to show ambition, to maximise their potential, and to embrace all aspects of school life to develop a wide-ranging skill set.

Newly Qualified Teachers are also encouraged to apply for this role, however you must hold Qualified Teacher Status. Job Specification
If your specialism is teaching biology, physics or chemistry and you’re looking for work in a school, we may have jobs to interest you, particularly if you are a newly qualified teacher (NQT) or looking for supply teaching work.
As a science teacher you’ll be expected to:
1. Teach all areas of the school curriculum or your subject specialism
2. Organise the classroom and learning resources to create a positive teaching environment
3. Plan, prepare and teach lessons that cater for all student ability ranges
4. Motivate pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative presentation
5. Maintain discipline
6. Meet requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils’ development
7. Coordinate activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area
8. Stay up to date with changes and developments in the structure of the curriculum
9. Take part in school events and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening
10. Liaise with colleagues and working flexibly, particularly within smaller schools
