We are currently recruiting for a Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician to support our Team in Leeds. We are looking for someone with strong electrical, mechanical, and fault diagnosis experience. Rail experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
You'll make a difference by:
* Undertaking routine maintenance and repair of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the production plan.
* Carrying out download diagnosis and fault-finding to a basic level.
* Assisting other team members with the development of technical skills.
* Depot driving – Movement of allocated rolling stock within the depot limits.
* Identifying, ordering, and collecting spares and materials from stores.
* Assisting with cleaning of rolling stock when required.
* Actively identifying continuous improvement opportunities within own activities that will benefit customers and the business.
* Actively participating in sharing best practices with colleagues and other teams on own site and other sites.
You'll win us over by:
* Having an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
* Having rolling stock experience preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
* Having experience in documenting actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
* Possessing good knowledge and understanding for care of tools, equipment, and PPE as appropriate.
* Having knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
* Being able to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault-finding, and rectification purposes.
* Being able to understand and interpret relevant technical publications.
* Having the flexibility to accommodate shift patterns.
