Research Technician
Department: R&D (Oxfordshire) Reports To: Head of R&D
Job Purpose: To manage the day-to-day operations of the R&D laboratory, including reagent/consumable stock, microbial culturing, and Health & Safety. Additionally, contribute to ongoing R&D projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain reagent/consumable stock levels.
* Conduct routine microbial culturing.
* Ensure the laboratory remains organised, clean, and safe.
* Monitor and enforce Health & Safety procedures.
* Actively participate in R&D projects, including conducting experiments.
* Contribute to team meetings and discussions.
Qualifications and Experience:
* BSc/MSc in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field with laboratory experience.
* Strong background in molecular biology and/or microbiology.
* Proficiency in aseptic techniques.
* Experience or familiarity with DNA amplification methods (e.g., PCR).
* Ability to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
