A school we are proud to support are seeking two dedicated learning support assistants (LSA) to join their hardworking and close-knit team, providing high quality care, education and support to their students. Supporting vulnerable students aged 5 - 16, the school is an independent day school where students are not only made to feel safe, but given every opportunity to thrive.
Our school is seeking a LSA to provide general classroom support across the school as well as a literacy support specialist. For this role, you will again be working with many students across the school. You will be taking students out of the class to plan and deliver intervention sessions, focusing on developing literacy skills.
The young people you will be working with may come from diverse and sometimes traumatic backgrounds, and many may also have ADHD or autism. Therefore, it is essential that you are confident in managing challenging behaviour.
Regardless of their circumstances, the school adopts a therapeutic approach, focusing on building meaningful relationships to create a safe, nurturing environment for students to thrive. This approach has led to excellent attendance and successful outcomes.
As a learning support assistant, you will:
* Nurture and inspire students both inside and outside the classroom
* Provide support to a small group of students or work on a 1:1 basis, depending on the need
* Assist the classroom teacher in helping students engage in their learning
The ideal candidate will be positive, empathetic, enthusiastic, and resilient, with a genuine desire to support young people. Experience or knowledge of SEMH is highly desirable.
This is a full time position, working Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30, term time only. If you prove to be a valuable asset to the school, there may be the opportunity to make this position permanent.
