Specific Responsibilities The Vice President of Decommissioning is a senior executive reporting to the Chief Operating Officer responsible for overseeing the global decommissioning operations of the Company’s offshore fields (facilities and wells) in the North Sea and U.S. Gulf of Mexico. This role entails strategic planning, execution, and management of decommissioning projects to ensure they are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards. The VP will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and liaise with stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities: • Strategic leadership: lead the global offshore decommissioning strategy implementation, ensuring alignment with company objectives and fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence • Project management: oversee the end-to-end planning and execution of decommissioning projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards • Regulatory compliance: ensure all decommissioning activities meet regulatory requirements and industry standards, proactively maintaining key stakeholder relationships and managing derogation requests • Financial oversight: manage decommissioning budgets within defined guidelines by the Executive Leadership Team and Board of Directors, driving cost efficiencies while maintaining safety and operational effectiveness • Stakeholder engagement: serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders, building strong relationships across partners, industry and regulatory bodies • Team development: build, mentor, and lead a high-performing integrated decommissioning team, promoting a culture of excellence and fostering decommissioning project attitudes in a collaborative work environment Qualifications & Experience The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience: • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in decommissioning and proven track record in drilling (wells) or offshore operations (facilities). • Proven successful performance in both the operator and contracting environments. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience; Master’s degree or MBA preferred. • Proven track record of managing and driving improvement within large-scale, complex projects, with a focus on safety, compliance, and efficiency. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and decommissioning industry standards, with the ability to develop effective decommissioning standards and guidelines. • Proven experience of managing and controlling large budgets or P&Ls. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven capability to effectively engage with and influence a broad set of stakeholders. • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
