Maes-Y-Derwen is looking for two motivated and passionate individuals to join our Supported Housing service in Caerphilly, Nelson, as Scheme Support Officers on a permanent 36-hour contract. Maes-Y-Derwen is a Supported Accommodation Scheme providing supported accommodation to homeless individuals, or couples aged 16 and over.

Maes Y Derwen is a warm, welcoming and friendly service providing supported accommodation to those experiencing homelessness. We work with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and complex needs. Every day is different, you’ll be learning new skills and have the opportunity to work with a variety of agencies. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment.
Your role would be working with our clients to teach tenancy management skills and provide any other housing related support they may require.
Your day will consist of:
Engaging and interacting with the people we support
Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
Welfare checks
Ensuring the building is secure including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
Dealing with challenging behaviours
Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have
Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse and anti-social and offending behaviour. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental.

What are the pay and benefits?
Part-time (36hrs), permanent.
Competitive salary of £22,744.80 (£23,376.60 FTE)
Work Pattern: The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you would be expected to work on a 3-week rolling rota which would involve: days and waking nights.
Additional payment of £34.54 for each sleep-In
