Location: Birmingham – Flexible Working Available Salary: Competitive Benefits Contract Value: £40m per year About the Role: We are partnering with a leading Tier 1 Property Services contractor, renowned for their excellence in delivering responsive repairs, maintenance, and planned works across social housing properties. Due to continued growth and an exciting new contract with a local authority worth £40m per year, we are seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. In this role, you will oversee a broad range of works, including responsive repairs, aids and adaptations, planned works, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for social housing properties. You will be responsible for managing and controlling costs across all aspects of the contract, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Manage the day-to-day cost control and reporting of the £40m annual contract with the local authority. Oversee responsive repairs, aids & adaptations, planned works, and PPE for social housing properties. Lead the procurement process and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure value for money. Monitor and manage the financial performance of the contract, including cost forecasting and budget management. Provide accurate and timely cost reports, including variations and final accounts. Work closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure the successful delivery of works. Ensure compliance with contract terms, local authority regulations, and industry standards. Liaise with stakeholders, ensuring strong communication and maintaining excellent relationships. Requirements: A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in social housing and property services. Experience overseeing large-scale contracts (ideally £10m). Knowledge of responsive repairs, planned works, and aids & adaptations. Strong understanding of financial management, including cost control, budgeting, and forecasting. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver projects to deadline. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. MRICS (or working towards) is desirable but not essential. Why Join Us?
