As a Planner Scheduler, you will be responsible for scheduling our K-Winch assembly activities along with fabricated, machined, and purchased components required in these assembly cells. Coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between these departments according to daily and weekly production schedules. Interacting with department Cell leaders, Sales, Purchasing, and Engineering to determine progress of work and completion dates, inventory levels, and solving production problems to ensure adherence to the Master Schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Production Scheduling: Plan and prepare production schedules for K-Winch assembly, assisting with purchasing, fabrication, and machining planning as necessary.
* Master Schedule Management: Draw up master schedules to establish sequence and lead time of operations to meet client forecasted schedules.
* Resource Planning: Analyse production specifications and construction data to determine material, tools, and human resource requirements.
* Sequence Planning: Plan the sequence of fabrication, machining, and assembly for K-Winch products.
* Expediting Operations: Expedite operations to avoid delays and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
* Reporting: Prepare production reports and maintain accurate records for accounting, reporting, and internal control systems.
* Project Coordination: Produce project packets, shop packets, pick lists, production schedules, manufacturing orders, and purchasing requisitions accurately and timely.
* Customer and Sales Liaison: Liaise with the sales team on delivery and availability issues related to fulfilling customer orders and provide input on inventory strategies.
* Team Coordination: Coordinate activities within adjoining teams to ensure efficiency and effectiveness, supporting customer requirements and expectations.
* Capacity Planning: Maintain and review capacity planning, highlighting overcapacity situations at the earliest opportunity.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
* Production-related qualifications
* Experience in planning and scheduling roles
* Strong interpersonal skills; approachable with a proactive attitude
* Understanding of ERP and PLM systems
* Advanced planning skills and flexibility to adapt to project changes
Desirable:
* 7 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), including Maths, English, and Science
