The Education Specialists are looking for an experienced Design & Technology Technician to join one of our Liverpool schools.

As a Design & Technology Technician, you will play a key role supporting the safe delivery of classes and their preparation.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Regular maintenance and sharpening of cutting tools and all machinery.
2. Operating and maintaining 3D printing machines.
3. Regular inspection and minor servicing of woodworking and engineering machines.
4. Overseeing the annual service contracts for equipment and machinery, including arranging external contractors to carry out COSHH testing of LEVs.
5. Ensuring all equipment conforms to Health & Safety requirements.
6. Maintaining stock rooms, workshops, saw rooms, etc. in a safe and tidy condition and replenishing basic supplies as necessary.
7. Preparing material for teaching groups, including the manufacture of small items (e.g., teaching aids, storage units, etc.).
8. Making and repairing small items of equipment for use by the departments.
9. Preparing work for the laser cutter.
10. Assisting with and monitoring the ordering of stock for all subjects within the faculty and receiving and distributing upon delivery.
11. Assisting with the design and construction of workshop teaching aids.
12. Carrying out basic electrical and mechanical repairs across the subjects within the faculty.
13. Upkeep of CAD/CAM monitors and machines.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
1. Previous experience.
2. A love for D&T.
3. A passion for supporting young people.
4. Ability to learn quickly.
5. Ability to work alone as well as part of a fast-paced team.
A full enhanced DBS is required for this role, which can be done through ourselves.
