P riority Can didates will be considered in the first instance Wigan Town Hall Library Street Wigan WN1 1YN Salary: Grade 8, 35,235 - 39,513 per annum. 37 hour per week Your role: We currently have an opportunity for an individual to join a high performing team within Wigan Council which provides a range of quality professional financial services to our valued customers. You will provide financial and accountancy support across the Resources Directorate Finance Division, mainly Places Directorate. Providing support to the Senior Finance Consultant and Group Finance Manager in the delivery and provision of a full range of financial services. You will assist in the preparation and monitoring of the budget for a service and the preparation of the final revenue accounts in compliance with local authority financial regulations and the corporate timetable. You will lead on the submission of grant claims and submissions to external funding partners. About you: You will have experience within a relevant finance environment, and of providing advice and guidance on financial issues. Experience of setting, monitoring and managing budgets, and a sound understanding of accounting principles. An ability to plan and manage workloads to ensure the timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills and a high level of IT skills, including experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) are also essential.
