Westbourne is a successful 21,000 patient practice located in Westbourne, Bournemouth (BH4 9HJ) with a growing patient list. We are looking for a proactive, enthusiastic patient co-ordinator. This is a permanent role starting as soon as possible. We are flexible and in return expect flexibility for sickness and holiday cover.
The role involves interaction with the public both face to face, over the phone and via email/online portal.
You will be working 10:00-18:30 - Monday to Friday - 37.5 hours a week.
Job summary:
Greet, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way. Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Job responsibilities:
* To work in accordance with written protocols.
* Monitoring the practice email inboxes and actioning as appropriate.
* Registering patients onto the NHS system.
* Process patients change of address – computer data and medical records.
* Greeting patients consulting with members of practice team.
* Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
* Receiving patients completed registration paperwork and checking it for errors and checking identification.
* Printing sample labels.
* Process appointment requests for same day and future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
* Answer incoming calls in a timely manner.
